Police Chief

Chief Pat Haynie

I am an Arizona native.  I started working for the Town of Clarkdale as a patrol officer 18 years ago.  In 1989 I was promoted to Sergeant and in 2003 I was promoted to Police Chief.  I enjoy working for the Town because of the people I work with and the community I serve.

 I have always felt that instead of complaining, people should get involved.  When I was a teenager, I didn’t feel that all Police Officers treated everyone fairly.  This inspired me to become an officer to do what I could to change the “us” against “them” mentality that I saw growing up.

I enjoy interacting with the citizens of Clarkdale.  I strive to have the Police Department be involved with the community, rather than just policing it.   We value the good rapport we have with our residents.  Fighting crime is a community effort.

I hope that when my employment is over with the Town, it will be said that I made a difference.
